A Day of Devotion: PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Gurudwara Takat Sri Patna Sahib

Date:

Today marked a significant event as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Gurudwara Takat Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru.

PM Modi paid his respects in the Darbar Sahib, a sacred chamber within the Gurudwara, demonstrating his deep reverence for the Sikh faith. He joined in the Ardaas, a powerful Sikh prayer that seeks divine intervention and guidance, reflecting his respect for the religious practices of the Sikh community.

The Prime Minister also had the opportunity to listen to live Kirtan, a form of devotional music that is central to Sikh worship. The hymns, sung in praise of the Gurus, added a spiritual dimension to his visit.

One of the highlights of the visit was PM Modi’s Darshan of the rare ‘shastras’ or weapons used by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. These weapons are not just historical artifacts but also symbols of the Guru’s bravery and spiritual leadership.

The visit by PM Modi to the Gurudwara is a testament to his commitment to India’s diverse cultural and religious heritage. It sends a strong message of unity in diversity, a principle that is deeply ingrained in the Indian ethos.
