ICAE 2024: Prime Minister Modi to Lead Inauguration of Key Agricultural Conference in New Delhi

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) on August 3, 2024, at the National Agricultural Science Centre (NASC) Complex in New Delhi. The opening ceremony, scheduled for 9:30 AM, will feature an address by the Prime Minister, setting the stage for a week of crucial discussions on global agricultural challenges.

This year’s ICAE, organized by the International Association of Agricultural Economists, marks a significant occasion as it returns to India after a 65-year hiatus. The conference, running from August 2 to August 7, will focus on the theme “Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems.”

The conference is expected to tackle pressing issues such as climate change, resource degradation, escalating production costs, and regional conflicts that impact global agriculture. It will highlight India’s role in advancing agricultural research and implementing innovative policies aimed at sustainable development.

With around 1,000 delegates from 75 countries, ICAE 2024 will provide a platform for leading professionals and young researchers to present their work, foster international collaborations, and influence agricultural policy-making. The conference will also showcase India’s progress in digital agriculture and sustainable food systems, reinforcing its position as a key player in addressing global agricultural needs.

As the event unfolds, it will serve as a vital forum for discussing strategies to ensure the future sustainability of agri-food systems and building global partnerships to address the challenges facing the agricultural sector.
