India Unveils First Flex-Fuel Motorcycle as Nitin Gadkari Pushes Green Mobility

Date:

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, attended the launch event of Hero MotoCorp’s first flex-fuel motorcycles in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Nitin Gadkari lauded the company’s initiative, stating that it aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of clean, self-reliant, and sustainable transportation.

He remarked that, as the world’s largest two-wheeler market, India can play a leading role in adopting flex-fuel mobility. According to him, the use of this technology could lead to a reduction of up to 77 percent in carbon monoxide emissions.

Gadkari noted that promoting flex-fuel vehicles would reduce dependence on petroleum imports and could result in foreign exchange savings of approximately ₹1.44 lakh crore for the country.

He added that this initiative would bolster energy security in rural areas, boost the demand for biofuels, support farmers’ incomes, and also promote the concept of “Waste to Wealth.” The Union Minister stated that this would also generate new employment opportunities and accelerate the country’s economic growth.

He concluded by saying that the launch of Hero MotoCorp’s flex-fuel motorcycles marks a significant milestone for the automobile sector, environmental conservation, and the Indian economy. It is the result of the cooperation and coordinated efforts of all stakeholders involved.
