A day prior to the commencement, on Thursday, the first batch of pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu under the supervision of security forces and reached the two base camps located at Baltal (Ganderbal district) and Nunwan/Pahalgam (Anantnag district). A total of 4,822 pilgrims embarked on the journey in two convoys moving within a security cordon; of these, 2,510 pilgrims reached the Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp, while 2,312 reached the Baltal base camp safely.

To assist pilgrims along the route, the administration has deployed ‘Helping Hand’ teams, assistance booths, and round-the-clock police personnel to ensure guidance, emergency support, and seamless movement.
