500+ Global Investors, Leaders to Gather at iBRICS Summit With $1 Trillion Sovereign Capital in Focus

Date:

More than 500 institutional investors, finance ministers and business leaders are expected to gather in the national capital for the inaugural iBRICS Summit 2026 on September 12–13, alongside India’s hosting of the 18th BRICS Summit.

The two-day iBRICS Summit, organized by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI), will be held at The Oberoi in New Delhi. The objective of the summit is to connect large institutional and sovereign investors with investable projects related to infrastructure, energy, and digital capabilities in BRICS member and partner nations.

This conference is taking place at a time when shifts in the global trading system, US tariff pressures, and the rising costs of dollar-based cross-border transactions are creating new challenges for BRICS economies. Discussions at the meeting are expected to focus on strengthening financial cooperation and developing alternative avenues for international capital flows.

Cross-border payment arrangements will also be among the key issues at the conference. Discussions may explore linking national instant payment systems—such as India’s UPI and Brazil’s Pix and consider potential interoperability between central bank digital currencies.

According to the organizers, the conference will bring together sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds, and family offices from major BRICS and Gulf nations, collectively managing assets estimated at around $1 trillion.

On the first day, a closed-door meeting of approximately 250 senior delegates will focus on discussions regarding non-dollar settlement corridors and potential investment opportunities. Bilateral deal tables and sector-specific roundtables will be held on the second day, where investors and project owners will discuss potential deals and partnerships.
