Prime Minister Modi Proposes 25-Year National Endeavor Following Meditation Retreat

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, returning from a contemplative 45-hour meditation retreat in Kanniyakumari, penned a reflective note on his flight back to Delhi, calling for a 25-year commitment to fortify India’s foundation for future generations.

Meditating at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, where Swami Vivekananda once sought solace, Modi drew inspiration from Vivekananda’s vision of “Bharat Mata” and invoked his call in 1897 to dedicate 50 years to the nation, culminating in India’s independence in 1947. Modi now urges dedicating the next 25 years to propel India’s development.

In his note titled “New Sankalp from Sadhana” (new resolutions from reflections), Modi recounted the sense of detachment he experienced during his meditation, prompting profound contemplation on the nation’s trajectory.

Kanniyakumari, where rivers converge with the sea, symbolizes India’s unity, Modi remarked. He praised the towering statue of Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar, extolling his Thirukkural as a literary gem in the Tamil language’s crown.

Delving into India’s historical role as a cradle of ideas, Modi emphasized the ethos of “Idam-na-mama” or “this is not mine,” highlighting India’s tradition of sharing knowledge with the world. He noted India’s support for developed countries during the COVID-19 pandemic, underscoring the nation’s solidarity in times of crisis.

Modi’s call for a 25-year national commitment resonates with India’s quest for progress on the global stage. As the nation confronts contemporary challenges, Modi’s vision underscores the importance of unity, spirituality, and forward-looking policies in charting a course towards a prosperous future for all citizens.
