Rozgar Mela Boost: PM Hands Over 51,000+ Job Appointment Letters to Youth

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed appointment letters for government jobs to more than 51,000 young people as part of the 19th Rozgar Mela. The program is part of a nationwide central government scheme aimed at quickly filling vacant positions in government departments and improving the country’s administrative system.

Appointment letters have been issued to those selected for various government departments, including the Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Posts, Revenue, and Health. These employees were selected through competitive examinations conducted by government agencies such as the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), and other central recruitment bodies.

Addressing the newly appointed personnel, Prime Minister Modi stated that the Rozgar Mela reflects the government’s commitment to transparent, time-bound recruitment in the public sector. He said the initiative is designed to ensure that vacancies in government departments are filled without unnecessary delays, improving administrative efficiency and service delivery.

The Prime Minister also emphasised that employment generation remains a key priority of the government’s development strategy. According to him, ongoing reforms, infrastructure expansion, and skill development programmes are contributing to job creation across sectors, with government recruitment playing a stabilising role in providing formal employment opportunities to youth.

Officials said the Rozgar Mela has been structured as a recurring recruitment platform to streamline the appointment process. Since its launch, multiple editions have been conducted, resulting in lakhs of appointment letters being issued to successful candidates across the country. The programme aims to reduce delays in recruitment and improve coordination among central departments.

This edition of the Rozgar Mela also highlighted the government’s increasing reliance on digital recruitment systems, including computer-based examinations, online evaluation mechanisms, and digitised document verification. Officials said these measures have helped improve transparency, reduce manual intervention, and speed up the overall hiring process.

The newly inducted employees will serve in a range of administrative and operational roles across central government departments. Authorities said the addition of young professionals is expected to improve efficiency, bring new perspectives into governance, and enhance the delivery of public services.

Employment experts believe that government initiatives like “job fairs” provide good jobs in the short term, but long-term job growth requires investment in private companies and industrial development. Additionally, young people should continue to acquire new skills and training to secure better employment.

The Rozgar Mela proves the government is actively working to create permanent government jobs. More of these large hiring events will happen in the coming months to fill open positions in government departments across the country.
